CLR : Design and lead classes for aerobic fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and overall improvement of body composition.
CLR : Select music and pair exercises harmoniously to create a motivating atmosphere.
CLR : Use a range of voice tonalities and volumes to create interesting and motivating group classes.
Objective of this Assignment:
As a future group exercise instructor, you must practice teaching group exercise programs! This assignment requires you to design a circuit group fitness class, including number of stations, timing active & recovery and exercise modifications. You will then record yourself introducing the class, describing the circuit plan, explaining the exercises with demonstrations and building rapport with your class participants. You must demonstrate your ability to educate participants on what to expect and how they can be successful.

Assignment Tasks:
Part # Design Practice
DESIGN Design a circuit group fitness class, including timing, tempo, exercises, and modifications. You need stations and a coded version. This written plan must be submitted as a required component of the assignment.
PRACTICE Practice your class speech prior to filming.
Part # Production
FILM Record yourself introducing the class and explaining what participants can expect. You must record this in one continuous take using your computer via a camera or phone You need to be in the video for the entire take. During your introduction, full body view is not required. However, when demonstrating the exercise, your full body head to toe needs to be in the frame. Your video may include any pieces of equipment you wish to use. There should be no other individuals in the video. Make sure lighting is decent and that your speech is clear. Have fun with it but keep it professional! No voice over recording!
o NOTE: You do not need to purchase any equipment. Use what you already have.
The video must meet the following guidelines:
Length min of minutes, max of : minutes
Welcome Welcome the class to and introduce yourself.
Education Coach your class on what to expect for the circuit class that they are attending, including:
o # of Stations
o Timing at each station rest station
o # of Sets per station
o # of Laps around the room
o # of Pods if applicable
Demonstrations Describe your stations, including how to perform the exercise properly, and identify option to either increase or decrease intensity.
Creativity Be as creative as you would like to make your video more fun for you and your viewers.
RETAKE if necessary Observe your initial video and confirm if enhancements are required, such as lighting, audio volume, script, background noise, etc. Make it as presentable as possible.
UPLOAD TO YOUTUBE optional but preferred Upload your video to YouTube. Make the video private and submit the working link to this video.
Part # Submission
In a word document with either Arial or Calibri font, please include the following:
A cover page with the course code and course name, the assignment number, the title of your assignment, your student ID your name, the instructors name, and the date the assignment is created.
Include your written components of this assignment: Circuit Plan.
The link to your video submission Highly advisable to submit a YouTube video link or Google Video link
Save the document as FirstNameLastNameAssignmentFIT and upload into Brightspace.
You are welcome to submit the video file separately to Brightspace. Please ensure it works before submitting.
Note: Some individuals prefer to refrain from having an online presence to protect their privacy. Students can rest assure that all videos can be deleted once the course facilitator marks the assignment and students receive their mark. The video shared with the course facilitator will be for assessment only and will remain confidential. Students are not obligated to share their video with their classmates, and the course facilitator will not share the video without the students permission.
