This builds upon Learning Activity $1,$ ensuring that students understand the role of a business analyst as a steward bound by integrity. This role is seen as one that fosters trust, demonstrating responsibility, commitment, and accountability. While the organization has a duty of due diligence to consider recommendations of the business analyst, the analyst proactively prepares to gain stakeholder buy$-$in by demonstrating high integrity. This is achieved through problem$-$solving knowledge and skills, strong analytical abilities, and a quick understanding of the domain and the challenges the organization faces. Students are encouraged to draw from class examples and personal experiences to illustrate instances of good stewardship and governance, both institutional and in practice.

Activity

Students will engage in an asynchronous online discussion forum set up for this purpose in the LMS that responds to the question of the importance of governance and stewardship in business, drawing examples from real life and positing different possibilities. Expectations will be that students will need to post their initial response to the background as an individual response by mid$-$week, and that they must respond to at least two other initial responses, or secondary responses of other students, before the end of the week.
