• The exciting new features promised with the XWB will help combat the noveltyandexcitementsurrounding the B787 release.
• The XWB is their only competitive offering in this market segmenttheycan'tafford to lose it!
• Airbus can make up time againstBoeing.
• The XWBdoes nottake as many technologicalrisks as does the B787 (such as reliance onCFRP).
• Production delays and costs can be kept lower than Boeing.
• While Boeing's aggressive timeline is likely to slip,Airbus can be poised to deliver on anaccelerated delivery schedule, thus closing to gap between the release of the two aircraft.
