Justification:Homelessness is a massive issue facing Southern California. I would include information regarding the relevant areas around Saddleback College to highlight the immediacy of this issue to our class. There is a lot of discussion regarding best practices for ending homelessness and I would argue for immediate shelter with certain regulations, including drug and alcohol rehabilitation, mental health treatment, employment opportunities, and wholehearted therapy intervention.

Relevancy:I believe I could make this relevant to the class regarding statistics of students at Saddleback who have been homeless, information about surrounding areas of the campus, and practical ways a college student could help.

Call to action:I would call the class to action by urging them to volunteer at a local shelter, or I could encourage our class to volunteer at the CARE center on campus to help to alleviate this issue.
