Question: This week we are talking about whether companies are responsible enough to institutionalize ethical behavior / expectations , or does government need to step in

This week we are talking about whether companies are responsible enough to institutionalize ethical behavior/expectations, or does government need to step in and require it (aka: Regulation)
After watching the Inside Job (link in your reading material)- what are your thoughts? Can businesses/individuals be left up to their own morals and ethics or do we need to regulate businesses to make sure they don't do harm? This video is about the banking industry, but it applies to the environment (not polluting rivers); manufacturing (safety measures); food/drugs (safety standards)- can we rely on ethics or do we need laws/regulations?
Answer the following:
1)What are your overall thoughts on this film (use examples from the film)?
2) Can businesses/individuals be left up to their own morals and ethics or do we need to regulate businesses to make sure they don't do harm?
3) Are these individuals an example of Immoral or Amoral leadership? (Look those terms up if needed) Why do you think that?
Respond to 1 classmate, as this is our only means of important discussions. (I'm giving 2 weeks to complete this discussion because of the length of the video - don't wait until the end or it makes it hard to complete the responses.)
