This weeks journal I will be talking about is based on a film that is based on a true story. The title of this article is "LEADERSHIP STYLE OF THE CHARACTER SEAN PORTER IN GRIDIRON GANG MOVIE DIRECTED BY PHIL JOANOU" by Oryza Ridzkika & Arido Laksono. The article is basically to study the leadership characteristics in certain characters throughout the film. The purpose of the study is "There are three purposes of the study that the writer conducts, which are To describe the intrinsic aspects in Gridiron Gang movie which consist of character, 3 setting, and conflict, and to identify the leadership style that the main character, Sean Porter, applies on the movie using Path Goal-Leadership theory by Robert House."(Oryza Ridzkika & Arido Laksono) My purpose of choosing this article is because one of the main characters Dwayne Johnson as Sean Porter is a servant leader to the team he made from delinquent kids. Throughout the film he does literally everything for them for example, he goes to schools and explains why he's doing this for the kids so they can play games, he gets funding for the teams equipment, and he has some one on one time with the kids who are having a hard time fitting in with the team. Even though his mother is on her death bed his main priority is to get the kids on the right path.

This article relates to servant leadership because if you analysis the characters they talk about in the article from the film you can see how much they want to help the kids in the facility. This resource has made me aware of the fact that the characters in this film well the older ones are doing everything they can to help these kids which made them servant leaders before I even knew what a servant leader was. The resource can be used to help others become aware that serving a team with the utmost conviction can make you a better leader in the eyes of your team. The resource provides knowledge about how to find out which people use what type of leadership style and the resource teaches skills that a leader should have and how to analyze how they do it.
