Four people who work together were told this morning that the company they work for will close at the end of the month! They have met at a restaurant after work to discuss the situation.

Ken:

This may sound weird, but this is just the push I need to get started in my own business. I've always wanted to strike out on my own and this is actually an opportunity for me to follow my dreams.

Anne:

Well I$\text{'}$m glad you can be so cheerful Ken. Stan's been out of work for six months now, and my pay cheque is all we have. Where am I going to get the money to pay the rent and put food on the table?

Mary:

You know what really gets me$,$ is that we've all become such good friends; almost like family. Now we'll be splitting up and going different ways.

Darren:

Well, at least we know the company didn't fail because of our performance. Those awards we got for excellence, three years in a row, should help us get good jobs elsewhere.
