Medical metrics: Utilizing medical metrics to apply morbidity, mortality, prevalence, and/or incidence relative risk to a healthcare policy or management decision.

Specific topic: Maternal morbidity and mortality Reducing C-section rates.

Assignment Outline and Tasks

Background provide a brief yet well-rounded description of the organization under review (at the center of the case study).

Include the target population for this organization (who does it service?).

Include the key support this organization provides to the community or target

population (what is the service?).

Challenge discuss the health and/or healthcare delivery challenge experienced by the organization and/or its community or target population (there might be more than one challenge address at least one challenge).

Perspective explain how the challenge led to the development of a perspective (reason) for the redesign of the service/s that would improve healthcare delivery and ultimately, the communitys or target populations health; what is the perspective?

Data Supporting the Redesign describe the data collected (internally and externally) as evidence of the challenge and to support the perspective for redesign must include prevalence, mortality, and morbidity data.

Redesign & Model discuss the model the organization employed to improve its service

Include the vision for redesign.

Include how the model was applied.

Redesign Tools list at least three tools utilized in the redesign and provide a brief

explanation of at least one.

Metrics Identify at least one performance metric and explain its purpose and how it was utilized discuss prevalence, mortality, and morbidity indicators.

Outcomes discuss the outcomes of the redesign in relation to the challenge you have identified in the earlier part of this paper by how much did they reduce c-section rates as well as maternal morbidity or mortality, if the latter two are available?

Analysis and Recommendations analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the redesign (e.g., what worked well and what could be better to obtain a greater benefit).

Look at the lessons learned to assist your thought process, if available

Given their lessons learned, what would you recommend as an improvement
