Qualitative risk analysis occurs prior to quantitative risk analysis and provides more information about the risks identified for the project. During Week 3, we looked at the concept of qualitative risk analysis. This week, we discussed the quantitative risk analysis process.

Your business sponsor stated that he does not know much about the over all project risk analysis and would like to gain an understanding of this process. Please make a presentation that distinguishes between the qualitative and quantitative risk analyses processes. Explain why a project manager should perform a qualitative risk analysis first. Then, describe the overall risk analysis process in terms that a lay person, such as a business sponsor, will understand.

Finally, the business sponsor ask you one more follow-up question. Do we need to always conduct both the qualitative and quantitative risk analysis? Why or why not? Please conclude your presentation addressing this follow-up question.
