Using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator:

• Explain to your client why you want to assess her.
• Explain which assessment you would like to use and your rationale for selecting it.

1. Describe the purpose of the assessment and the age range for the groups that the tool is used to assess, and the length of time needed to administer it.
2. Describe theinstrument, including:
   • A description of the test items, scales and/or subscales - (e.g., review some of theitems/scales to determine the how items/scales are used tomeasure the construct if provided.
   • how the items are answered (i.e.,Likertscale or yes/no),
   • how the items are scored and what raw scores mean,
   • report information about the reliability and validity scores.

• Finally, discusshow the assessment will help the client(detailabout scoring and what scores mean will help explain how results will be used to help client). For example,Scores of 125 on the depression scale indicate... moderate depression... and explains... behaviors that you described. Then we will be able to get you into individual and group counseling...
