Assignment Tasks: Task 1 Question No.1: Create a Visual Studio Application/Solution Project based on a real life situation to computerize its existing manual system. Imagine that you are told to develop a software system to manage Employee details of a company. a. Create a database called HOSPITAL and a table with a name PATIENT inside the database. The table should contain at least 8 columns of various data types. b. Add at least 15 records into the table PATIENT. c. Configure the database and display all the records from the table PATIENT on the Form with Details View as well as Data Grid View. Task 2 Question No.2: a. Create at least 5 different Reports like Matrix Report, Chart, Tabular Report, Grand Total Report and a Formula Column Report with Totals. Show these reports on different forms. Call the forms of various reports from the main form, Form I. b. Create various Search criteria based on all the columns of the table PATIENT to get required data records from the table on the required form. Add a facility to cancel the Search conditions to view all the records from the table back on the form c. Add various buttons on the main form to do the above activities. Add another button to exit from the application when clicked on it. Add also a button to select any particular color according to the choice of the user, from a common dialog box for colors and then apply it to the background color of the main form, Form 1. Add another button to do Print Form. Task 3 Question No.3: a. Design a menu with appropriate menu options and write codes to apply them. Create and apply Context Menu strips, Menus strip, Tool strips and Status strip on the main form. Link different "ContexMenuStrips', to different objects of the form. Display few menu options of the *MenuStrip' with appropriate images, shortcut keys and tool tip texts. Activate them with codes. Display few tool buttons on the 'ToolStrip' with appropriate images and tool tip texts. Activate them with codes. Display few 'ToolStrip StatusLabels' on the Status strip with some texts or data on them while you load the form. b. Add File menu to the Menu Strip to change the background color of the main form. Add an option to Print Form. Last option of the File Menu should be to exit from the application c. Add Report menu to the Menu Strip to call all the reports created like Matrix Report, Chart, Tabular Report, Grand Total Report and a Formula Column Report with Totals. (Grand Total Report should show the Grand Total of all the numeric columns of the table PATIENT. Create few formula column values for the last report and group records based on any appropriate column of the table to calculate sub-totals based on that column. Show grand totals for all the numeric columns in this report. Format all the reports appropriately. d. Add Search menu to search the database for various records based on various columns of the table PATIENT. Add an option to cancel the search too on the same menu to show all the records back on the form c. Add Help menu with an option About, to know the project details and another option Help to display shortcut keys on another form.
