Web Research Project for Chapter 11: Music Databases

According to the Bits & Bytes section in Chapter 11, having good music at hand is easy now thanks to music streaming services such as Pandora and Spotify. Each service uses a database to deliver music based on user preferences. With Pandora (pandora.com), you create radio stations that play music with attributes similar to those you provide. With Spotify, you can search content by artist, album, genre, playlist, or record label to find what you want to listen to. Spotify incorporates a social networking aspect by informing you what songs your friends are listening to and sharing playlists from users who choose to make their lists public. Your job is to research how these music streaming databases work and the pros and cons of using them. Compare and contrast the use of at least four (4) free streaming services and paid subscription services. Write a short paper (1-2 pages) discussing your findings. Follow your instructors directions for proper formatting of your research.
