WEEK 2S ASSIGNMENT

Objective: Write a 1-2 page (750-100 words, not including the cover page and reference page) APA-formatted paper that explains a visual about a communication challenge and suggest two ways of improving it.

Preparation Tasks

After reviewing the weekly resources related to the assignment topic, visit LIRN (or another database) and find and annotate 2-3 articles. Remember to save your sources since you will have to cite them in your paper.

Additionally, at your work or school, take a photo that relates to challenges in departmental and organizational communication. The photo could be a diagram, a chart, an office policy, and an office sign or even part of an email (be mindful of the privacy/confidentiality for the email option). Save your visual as you will include it in your paper.

Once you have your articles and/or visuals, make an outline of your paper using this outline template. This will come in handy when you start writing your paper.

WEEK 2: COMMUNICATION CHALLENGES

Step 1: Review your weekly resources that cover the topic of communication challenges. Be sure to take notes and make a list of common challenges and ways to prevent them.

Step 2: Working off of your notes, select one of these communication challenges and consider two ways to resolve it in the workplace.

Step 3. It is time to transform your notes and thoughts into an outline for your paper. In your outline, incorporate your notes and thoughts. This is where you might want to use the outline template.

Step 4. Write your 1-2-page APA-formatted paper using the APA template from the CIU Student Resource Center! In your paper, you should explain how your image relates to the topics covered in Week 2 and suggest at least two ways of improving this communication challenge.
