AHP and Weighted Sum Matrix

Assessment Description

The purpose of this decision is to practice using the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and weighted sum matrix (WSM) to make a decision for a 4x4 framework problem.

Part 1

1. Review the videos on AHP and the Weighted Sum Matrix in the Topic Resources.
2. Choose a problem that has a 4X4 framework, this should consist of four criterion and 4 alternatives (e.g., The criterion could be reliability, gas mileage, power and price. Then the alternatives are four types of cars.)
3. Complete the AHP, by filling in the yellow cells with the information from the problem with the 4x4 framework in the AHP and WSM template. Do not alter the green cells.
4. Then complete the Weighted Sum Matrix by completing the yellow cells in the AHP and WSM template. Do not alter the green cells.
5. Submit your completed Template.

Part 2

Complete a 250-500-word executive summary of your findings in a Word document that includes the following information.

• Identify the problem being solved.
• Summarize the high-level process steps to complete the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and weighted sum matrix (WSM).
• Rationalize why the four criterion were chosen.
• State your recommendation for the problem.
• Summarize the data that supports the recommendation, use screen shots of your data as necessary. Include references in your summary.
