When building your supply chain strategy, youre going to consider global structure (Ch. 10), network design (Ch. 11), performance measurement (Ch. 13), and complexity (Ch. 14). For each of these 4 components of your supply chain strategy, consider how your design is impacted by the risk model described above. While things like global pandemics can be evaluated by your risk model (extremely low likelihood/extremely high impact/relatively short time to recover), its much more likely that you would encounter something like a key supplier going bankrupt (medium likelihood/medium impact/relatively short time to recover) or a shift in customer preferences (medium likelihood / high impact / medium time to recover) in your typical year. The question: select 5 variables that would impact your supply chain strategy (examples include, but are not limited to approach to international strategy, reverse logistics, location of plants, location/quantity of distribution network, balanced scorecard, customer perspective, cost to serve, product complexity, workforce management, and sustainability) and discuss how you would minimize the risk factor for this area. Give specific examples (as I did in the paragraph above) of risks, impacts, recovery strategy, and how you would manage the risk factor.
