In this weeks assignment, the focus was on the impact of the ways in which TD Industries implemented its leadership in the organization. The organization used several different types of methods in which they focused on the employee, their task, and their effectiveness in performing their job. Several companies tend to believe that if you give rewards to one employee who has done a great job in performing their duties, that this would encourage others to perform as well. However, here in the 21st century of doing business, it not a good practice to only promote one employee with an award or trophy. The one thing that employees required the most is respect from those not only who they work with, but those who are in direct line with supervising others. Organizations are often viewed by their work ethics and values that are displayed by management. If an employee sees management as being disrespectful and unfair to one employee, then that employee would more than likely assume that the same outcome could happen to them. For example, the company IBM has always ensured that their employee believed in one of their three basic beliefs which were respect for the individual. This belief has been the rock in which IBM built the organization from the early 1900s and prevalent today here in the 21st century. By being proactive and ensuring that employees have a feeling of being respected and appreciated for the work that they are doing, the employee population is destined to reciprocate back that same intensity in a positive way regarding the organization itself.

TD Industries is creating the type of leaders who are focused on the employee. And, focusing in on the employee will allow the company to be successful and thrive towards a stronger employee population that is forward thinking, and proactive in their every move. One of the main successful key points revealed in the article was the longevity of TD Industries employees. The article referenced MacDowell as having been employed with TD Industries since 1985. From this point in time, MacDowell was able to perform his jobs and learn the business by being a part of the organization. His career was a successful career in that in 2005, he was promoted to the role of CEO. Within MacDowells plight in TD Industries, he was able to be mentored, be given the proper training, shown the proper appreciation and respect that any average individual may require. And from all these positive impacts to employees comes longevity, commitment, and dedication to the organization.
