A mentor can monitor their mentee by observing, meeting to check in with the mentee, and holding the mentee accountable. If the current strategies are only delaying the mentee's success or confusing them, it may be a good idea to adjust the strategies. Adding a different strategy or changing the direction of the plan can provide better results for the mentee if they are currently struggling in the strategy they have. For example. if my mentee wants to progress as a leader and his current plan is to focus on coaching conversations, but he is struggling, we may change the plan to focusing on labor and then circling back around to the coaching plan later.
