WPT25: Cultural Diversity Learning Experiences This workplace assessment task requires you to plan and implement 2 (two) experiences for a group that encourage children to respect all cultures and to celebrate cultural diversity. Document each planed experience using the attached Learning Experience Plan. Experience 1: The planned experience should focus on events, customs, and beliefs that are relevant to the service's children and their families. Experience 2: The planned experience should demonstrate respect for all home languages and expose children to different language and dialects and encourage appreciation of linguistic diversity. Both your experience plans must be approved in writing by the Workplace Supervisor at least 24 hours prior to implementation The following guidelines need to be considered when planning learning experience / activity: Should be in line with the needs of the service and its cultural mix. Focus on events, customs and beliefs and the languages that are relevant to the service's children and their families. You should also explore with the children their own culture, heritage, backgrounds and traditions and consider their input in planning appropriate experiences. Using the Group Observation Record template observe and document the children's interactions and participation in cross-cultural understanding. Include an innovative and effective ways to transition children to a different activity eg; indoor activity to outdoor play built on the diverse backgrounds of children and families within the service and broaden the children's perspectives and appreciation of diversity.
