Write a 1-page memo.

Pretend you're the general manager at Hamilton Foods, a local grocery store. You received a complaint letter from Mrs. Crabtree, and now you must write a memo store employees about improving customer service.

Use the memo illustrated on pg. 340 of The Business Writer's Handbook as your model, and write a memo to all employees:

• Informing them about Mrs. Crabtree's experience using details in her complaint letter. HINT: This is a company-wide memo, so it's a good idea to leave specific employee names out
• Detailing the appropriate policy changes you invent to address Mrs. Crabtree's complaints

Mrs. Crabtree's complaint letter:

Dear General Manager:

My name is Dorcus Crabtree, and I have been a loyal customer of your store for 37 years, and I have always been treated properly at your store. Im very sorry to say, on the date of August 23, 2020, I was treated more horribly then I have ever been treated at any store!

It was a Tuesday, I had my cart full of groceries, and it was my turn at the check-out. The young woman at the register, her name tag said Jen, was talking on her cell phone. After I put as many groceries as I could fit on the conveyor belt, I said, Excuse me, and she said, Just a minute, and kept talking! I told her I was in a rush, so she started swiping my groceries through, but she never stopped talking on the phone. The bill, totaled up to more than I figured it would, so I asked her to recheck it to see if my coupons went through. She gave me a dirty look and said the coupons went through without even checking!

I dont want to get my groceries at Hamilton Foods anymore, if Im going to be treated like this! I hope you look into the matter and make sure such an incident is not repeated. I will wait for a response before I return.
