Write a computer program to calculate the propagation constant and the field patterns of a three-layer slab waveguide for the TE and TM modes. You might have to use the root-finding function (e.g. fzero in MATLAB) to solve the eigenvalue equation eqn. 5.14 for the TE mode and eqn. 5.15 for the TM mode. Starting from a guess value, find some of the guided modes and plot the Electric and Magnetic Field profiles as well for these modes.
