Write two or three complete sentences per question in answer to the following. By answering these questions, you will have generated some basic ideas to use in the Solution Section of your Proposal Assignment.

1. How can the problem be solved? Try writing down a solution in one or two very clear and simple sentences so your reader cannot possibly miss what you are proposing.

2. What will be the major advantage(s) of your solution? How will it be feasible and workable?

3. What could be the disadvantages and costs associated with your solution? Include monetary costs but also try to imagine the non-monetary costs of people working differently and the time and efforts needed to reorganize, reconceive, and/or retrain people.

4. How will the overall benefits of your solution outweigh the disadvantages and costs? Argue how your solution will be better than an alternative solution or simply doing nothing.

5. How can your solution provide your organization with a real sense of confidence and optimism about the future if your solution(s) were to be put into effect?

6. Although research is not required for this proposal, if you did use some research, what research might help your argument to be even more persuasive in the problem or solution sections of your proposal? Write down at least one good example. (For example, you could research the typical costs connected to the problem or solution in terms of money, time, or employee turnover).
