Question:
Everyone in your group agreed to meet in the Genesis Centre on Monday at 4:30. You arrive 15 minutes before the meeting is scheduled to start. Two of your group members arrive at 4:30, right on time. Your final group member, a close friend of yours, texts you at 4:35 to ask where the meeting is taking place. You respond, a little annoyed because you were very specific in your earlier email about the time and location of the meeting. They respond back indicating they will be there in 10 minutes. Your other two group members remind you that they must leave before 5:00 to go work.
Fifteen minutes later your friend arrives and there is not enough time to do the rehearsal before the other two group members have to leave. As they are leaving, they comment to you about their frustration with your other group member, your friend, reminding you that it was your idea to invite your friend into the group. After they have left, your friend explains that they were late because they had to deal with a family emergency.
You have one more day before you have to make the presentation, and you have two very disgruntled group members.
Think about what you might do at this point and what you should communicate to your other two group members and prepare an email that you might send to them.
1. Explain the context within which you are preparing your communication.
2. Identify the outcome your communication is intended to achieve.
3. Identify who the primary audience for your communication is. List three (3) questions that the primary audience might have upon receiving your communication after seeing only your name and the subject line.
4. Write your email communication, including a proper salutation and proper sign off.
