You will be required to provide a Network Information Chart, Project Network Diagram (AON), Risk Assessment and Recommendation to Management. Create a Network Information Chart that identifies the components of the project, duration for each component and flow of the work. See Table 6.2 on page 177 From the Network Information Chart create a complete Project Network Diagram (AON) See Figure 6.8, page 173 which will graphically display the project, start/end dates and identify the Critical Path of the project. Both the Forward and Backward pass will be required to calculate slack and identify the Critical Path. Based on your knowledge and that of your peers you will need to complete a Risk Assessment form (Figure 7.6 page 212 . Be prepared to identify 4 risks to the project. For the sake of this exercise it is necessary to include 4 distinct risks, and you will manage each using a single strategy, but you must use the 4 following strategies-- Mitigation, Avoidance, Transfer and Retain one for each risk. Develop a Risk Response Matrix Figure 7.8 pg 217 where you will detail the action plan to deal with anticipated risks. Based on the information provided in your Network Diagram you are now able to make a recommendation to management on whether this project can be completed in the requested time. Provide your Recommendation to Management on the capability to proceed. Note that this is not simply a one line statement! You are expected to sell Management on the ability to proceed based on your expertise, the risks involved, your scope document etc. Make it a convincing argument.
