The article “Understanding the impact on climate change of convenience food: Carbon footprint of sandwiches”  analyzed data of 24 commercially available (i.e., ready-made) sandwiches with regard to their carbon footprint (measured in grams of carbon dioxide equivalent, g CO₂e and encompassing everything from the agricultural production to packaging and waste management) and how the carbon footprint depends on the energy content (measured in kCal) of the sandwich.
