The hours are long, but the work is not difficult and the pay is above average for the industry. After interviewing three possible candidates who appear well qualified, the hiring manager checked social media and found the following:

• Candidate A, a single father of two, posted several times about being late for work because his children were ill.

• Candidate B, an older woman, posted pictures of herself at work in a restaurant, though her application said she is currently a security guard.

• Candidate C, a young recent immigrant who revealed an interest in movies during the interview, has no social media presence.
