A partial life cycle of corn ethanol accounts for the farming, ethanol production, nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer manufacturing, and diesel production steps. The local demand and supply of CO₂ and water for each step are given in Table 16.5.

Calculate the local sustainability metrics for each activity, and the global warming potential of the net CO₂ emissions. Compare the improvement opportunities that would be identified by conventional LCA versus TES-LCA.
