The Garrotts knew perfectly well that Rodney should not be driving. Even without reading the contract, they could have guessed that a drunk, unlicensed driver did not have permission to use the car. Further, both driving without a license and drunk driving are serious violations of the law. Why should a court help people who violate the contract and break the law?
