My background as an educator has followed two distinct tracks. On the academic side, I did unstructured tutoring of Computer Science topics in college. This included meeting with CS students, both close friends and acquaintances, working through programming and database design problems. More recently, I was a teaching assistant during my Master's degree. I supervised groups of international Master's student as they worked to produce long-form reports and give regular presentations. Though quite different in style, these were both highly rewarding experiences - in no small part due to mutual enthusiasm for the work.
Less academically, since I was quite young I've assisted with, and more recently run, youth sports camps. I'm also a long-time martial arts, self defense and fitness instructor, and have taught classes of all ages.
I'm now working to meld my enthusiasm for both physical and digital security, and my general enthusiasm for Computer Science. I spend the majority of my free time programming for both fun and profit, in a variety of languages, and would greatly enjoy imparting some of my happily-acquired gains through online tutoring!
I developed software for macOS and iOS using XCode in Obj-C and Swift. I implemented security protocols including AES + CBC, TOTP and SHA. My role was largely remote, and we collaborated via Slack, Skype, git and email. I also developed associated browser extensions for the major browsers, and basic cloud-based, database solutions.
