Dixon, a motor vehicle purchaser, sued the Wisconsin Finance Company with which he had entered into an installment contract. He also sued its Illinois sister corporation, alleging that the contract was void under the Sales Finance Agency Act because the finance company was not licensed to do business in the state of Illinois.
