After specific negotiations you will be required to write up an analysis of the negotiation. This analysis if fairly open to your interpretation and must on follow three specific included components. Listed below are some points that will help you in your analysis/evaluation. The bolded items are the three specific components that must be included in your analysis. Remember, the idea is to identify mistakes and good practices as a way to develop better negotiation for you in the future. These following points may be helpful:

What was the problem or opportunity?

What was your role in the negotiation or mediation?

Did your opponent take a firm stand, how and in what way? Was it affective?

Were frameworks, plans and notes used to lay a foundation and strategy for the negotiation? What were the major components of your plan?

Was an action plan presented that addressed implementation steps and timing?

Was your plan and subsequent conclusion backed by numerical and logical analysis?

Were there alternatives given, and reasons given for dismissing obvious alternatives?

What was the settlement of the negotiation or mediation?

Could the outcome had been better, worst, or better or worst for you?

List two points that you learned from your negotiation or mediation.
