For our group project, we have decided to manage an established traveling sterilization company. Our company will have been in business for a little over a year with a solid market share and established services. Our company will sterilize equipment for smaller clinics via a pick-up and return service, as well as go to large facilities to sterilize their equipment in-house. Our service will allow medical facilities to outsource a timely and tedious procedure so that they can focus on providing the highest quality of care possible. Our service will also allow medical facilities to increase their surgical success rates by preventing the risk of infection from potentially unsterilized equipment.

Our mission statement will be as follows: Our mission is to provide a sterilization service that cleans and sterilizes equipment for medical facilities to increase surgical success rates and relieve facilities of this time-consuming process. Our goal is to ensure safe surgical procedures through clean instruments and equipment thereby reducing post-surgical complications due to unsanitary equipment. Our service will also free up more time for the facility’s staff to attend to other duties.

The management hierarchy of our company will be as follows: President of the company will by Stephanie Cooper; she will oversee daily operations from a widescale basis including Accounting, Marketing, and Creative Services Departments. Amber Bullard will be the Vice President of Management Services; she will manage all personnel and the procurement processes. Tamyra Mullins will be the Vice President of Accounts Services; she will oversee Account Supervisors and the Account Services Representatives responsible for providing top-notch customer service to the company’s clients.

Our service will have a few challenges to overcome. The first challenge to overcome will be implementing a sterilization process to ensure all instruments and equipment pass sterilization standards 100% of the time. This will be supported by providing proper documentation to all clients’ that certifies the sterilization of their equipment by our company. A second challenge will be implementing a CRM to accurately track whose equipment we have and where it is within our sterilization facility or in the client’s facility. It will be imperative that our company create guidelines and procedures for the sterilization process and remain consistent with them to ensure we know exactly where everything is all the time. A third challenge will be ensuring that our company has the manpower available to ensure timely sterilization of our clients’ equipment. Our Account Services will need to work closely with Management Services to provide the workload coming into the company via internal and external sales to ensure we have enough staff on-hand or enough hours in the day to complete the work coming in.

Future goals for our company will include a new branding of our services within the first 30 days. We will need to distinguish ourselves from our competition by highlighting our competitive advantages. We will also be setting a 30-day goal of creating and implementing an effective timeline for operations; this timeline will ensure we are providing our services in a timely manner that benefits our clients. Our company will also need to create a plan to increase our market share within the first 90 days. If our company plans to be successful and grow, it will need a competitive strategy to get there. One long-term strategic goal would be to open up more facilities within the next five years to gain access to more medical facilities not within a reasonable distance of our current location.
