MY ANSWER TO THESE QUESTIONS ARE BELOW (what do you agree with if anything and what would u add) Skilled writing is essential in media relations because people may receive the wrong message or read a message as unprofessional if not written properly. Also, the way an audience views a message is important to pay attention to and if written wrong a message can be misunderstood or ignored. The media relies on the Associated Press style to have organization and a guideline for their writing to make sure that they are writing professionally and consistently. Proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation are essential to making a business look put together and putting out a confident and concise message to its audience. When people receive their news, they want to make sure what they are reading is factual and correct. A lackadaisical writing style could make a person question if this source is reliable and discredit the entire article. The danger of not putting forth your best writing style is coming off as careless and disingenuous to your audience. Ignoring the guidelines can come across as lazy and once again super unprofessional. As mentioned before, ignorance of writing rules can lead organizations to lose credibility and connections with their readers, turning people away from their work. I believe that even one article or newsletter can have irreversible damage to a brand's image, if not written correctly
