1) Invent a fictitious person (position and title) whose duties involve management or accounting for a company.

2) Choose the company and an area such as accounts receivable and cash receipts; purchasing and cash disbursements; inventory; payroll etc.

3) Develop a fraud triangle profile for your character.

4) Develop an employee embezzlement fraud scheme. (Although embezzlements may affect account balances, your scheme must not be a financial statement fraud - stick to frauds covered in this module's reading.)

5) Prepare a 2-3 page paper. Write this in essay format, from the perspective of the fraudster. Be sure to include the following:

-Introduce 'yourself' (as your character) - include job and company info., fraud triangle profile, etc.
-Describe the embezzlement scheme.
-Describe any documents that may need to be altered, destroyed, or forged etc.
-Describe how the fictitious person would convert company cash or other assets for their own use.
-Describe how you would fool the auditors. (Include reasons why you believe you can fool the auditors. Your analysis can focus on either the internal auditors, external auditors, or both. Remember; the internal & external auditors are or will be at work in the company.)
-What is your exit strategy?
