1. You must select the best aluminum (Al) alloy for the tubes of a heat exchanger (HX). You have been told that to produce the tubes from aluminum these tubes will be drawn. Al was selected for this application due to its ability to conduct heat. The Al for this application will be under a stress of up to 400Mpa and will undergo cyclic stress each time the HX is cycled into service.
