4. John loves his mother very much and he has watched her raise him and his little brother up as a single mom all his life. Recently, a few neighbors were complaining to him that his mother is quite rude to them in the parking lot, when she is on her way to work. She uses mean gestures and can be quite disrespectful. John finds it hard to believe that his mom has any of these qualities and blames the neighbors for misrepresenting his mothers character

John has a bias toward his mother, and due to this bias, he is not able to see some of the negative traits his mother possesses.
