CASE STUDY: ESSENTIALS OF CORE LIFE SKILLS Ms. Rahma is the Assistant Officer of a nonprofit organization Save Life that helps to old aged people to get proper medical assistance. In this organization, the employee maintain the health record of old aged people and provide them all assistance to maintain good health. Ms. Rahma always plays an important role and focuses on improving and evaluating the skill building program the agency provides to old aged people. She prepared the detailed report and inform directly to the organizations leader. The organization is facing some challenges because of COVID-19 in hiring more staff for the day to day operations and because of this COVID-19 situation, few of the staff members as two directors, three key research staff, and one staff person from the finance department have left. Ms. Rahma is continuously busy in frequently travel and meeting with medical and health associations that requires frequent travel; however, she supervises two managers who in turn are responsible for five staff members each. Both managers have been appointed within the last six months. Mr. Jamil is a manager and has a good knowledge of research and he guides to staff who provide research support to another department that delivers behavioral health services to old aged people. Mr. Jamil always provide appropriate instructions to the support staff members and keep on them motivated during this COVID-19 situation also. He has upper level leadership values. Ms. Ayida is also manager and has good knowledge to analyze the social values and research. Ms. Ayida always organized and systematize her work. She takes decisions very quickly and solve all the problems as earliest. She is extremely supportive of her staff. Ms. Ayida is honest and capable to do multi tasks on same time. Mr. Jamil and Ms. Ayida both are interacting with all the staff on the daily basis and observing that staff members are occupied with more responsibilities due to less staff members and COVID19 situation. Staff members also have shared their views with Mr. Jamil and Ms. Ayida. Staff members mentioned clearly that Ms. Rahmas glass is half empty and her attitude and lack of communication leaves them feeling rejected. In addition, Ms. Rahma did not share any cash budgets with her managers, so they are having difficulty appropriately allocating work to staff. However Ms. Rahma informed to managers that she was not getting detailed information regarding cash budget from the finance department. But Finance department officer is intimating that complete report has been provided to Ms. Rahma on time. Now Staff members are facing challenges to get appropriate information regarding the budget and Managers are also facing challenges to keep motivating all the staff to do work.
