3, could i get two paragraphs for this discussion post, please?
This was my first-semester taking business courses, and I have learned a lot of good information from this class. I did not know how much I would learn from a management class since I managed people beforehand while in the Army. After taking this course, I feel people must take this class because it teaches you so much more about the mental aspects of being a manager. For example, I wish I had known beforehand that there are different managerial styles and that every situation or person requires a different one. This seems like common sense information, but when your mentors are also people who get thrown into a managerial position with little experience, there tends to be an "only my way is right" mindset. I also learned a great deal from the different theories presented in the text, such as the perspective theories on employee motivation. As a manager, it is essential to know that people are motivated by other things and to learn your employee's motivators. The last takeaway from this class is that management is continually evolving to match the changing times. We all saw this with the pandemic and how different the workplace environment became with hybrid or solely remote work-at-home jobs. The traditional managerial styles did not work, and issues with technology and employee productivity became a huge issue. Overall, I enjoyed this class and am glad to have taken it.
