A Comparative analysis of corporate governance policies and practices in the developed and developing countries-With specific reference to The United States of America and South America. The aim of this research is to show how corporate governance is practiced in the developed world (USA to be specific) and how that compares with how it is practiced in the developing world (South America in general). Amongst the issues to be discussed will be the type of laws that govern how corporations run themselves within the United States of America and South America, How most companies in the two areas are governed? Do they seem to do a good job of running themselves? The research will also give recommendations on how improvements to corporate governance can improve the image and investor confidence especially for the developing world and how that can spur economic growth. China will be cited as an example of how improvements in corporate governance can change the status of a nation.
