A$.$ Preliminary Steps

$1.$ Start Google Earth $($Very Important: This must be the application installed on your computer, not a mobile phone app or the Google Earth plug in on a web browser or the Satellite View on Google Maps$)$

$2.$ Follow the steps to set up Google Earth for a vertical view, with the instructions in the document Google$\_$Earth$\_$Settings$\_$For$\_$Classroom$\_$Use.pdf

$3.$ Make sure that "Photos" and "Places" under layers are unchecked $($Note: These can be turned on when necessary during the exercise$)$

$4.$ Make sure that the "Tour Guide", a band of photographs that might show up along the bottom of the screen is hidden. This can be done through the "View" menu.
