A REFLECTION PAPER(PARAGRAPH) ABOUT WHAT I WILL POST BELOW

Entering an organization system, especially as an external consultant, is one of the more difficult aspects of OD; it is also an extremely important first step in the OD process since it sets the parameters for the remaining phases of the process that will follow.

Diagnosis is the second major phase of planned change; one of the defining and distinguishing characteristics of OD is its emphasis on diagnosis prior to intervention. Similar to entering and contracting, the OD practitioner needs to develop an agreement with organizational members from the client system about collecting and using data gathered from them in order to draw conclusions for action planning and intervention. This is simply a more specific contracting process.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify methods of collecting data while diagnosing organizations.
  • Describe qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze data in order to produce meaningful results.
  • Examine situations to evaluate effectiveness or lack of when change was applied.
