According to Blumenthal et al, most of the "new drugs aren't even new drugs. They are modified versions of existing medications to protect the patent life, and profits, of existing drugs.

 

Group, why do you think it is so hard to get this message out to voters? 

 

Do you think policy makers are ignoring this information because the pharmaceutical lobby has been so successful at scaring Americans about the potential lose of innovation if changes are made? 

 

Group, should lawmakers even be involved in this process, or should it just be up to the healthcare bodies like CMS?
