Assessment Task 2: Occasion One (M12 Project) Assessment task description - Motorway and Interchange Design This is the second (2) assessment task you must successfully complete to be deemed competent in this unit of competency. This assessment task is a Project Portfolio. You must complete all of the following tasks: Design Work Create detailed design plans for motorways and interchanges Do a risk assessment (check what could go wrong and how to prevent it) Evaluate different design options (compare and choose the best design) Interpret and analyse data, including calculating: o Areas o Volumes o Densities o Mass o Percentages o Road grades (slopes) o Capacity needs (how much traffic the road can handle) o Component sizes (e.g. lanes, ramps, bridges)
