Build your own POSCAR for N2 molecule. Use empirical values as the initial guess dN2. Build your own KPOINT and INCAR files. Select functional as GGA. Calculate single point energies of N2 molecule with five different distances between two N atoms. Show how the total energy changes as a function of the distance. The five distance values can be chosen as: dN2 - 2, dN2 - , dN2, dN2 + , dN2 + 2. You can decide your own value. Find the optimal distance between two N2 atoms by regression (dbind). dbind corresponds to the bond length that gives a minimum in the total energy. If you do cannot find a minimum, try other values. Find the optimal distance between two N2 atoms by performing geometry optimization (dopt). Compare dbind and dopt, are they the same? Find the frequency of N2 at equilibrium bond length dopt. Compare the calculated frequency values with empirical values.?
