Case Study Mildred is an 84-year-old Caucasian woman of German descent who has six children. She was married for 47 years before her husband died of cancer. She rarely travels due to her age, but she decided to visit her son in Phoenix, Arizona. She didn't want to travel to the desert because of the severe heat but agreed to do so since it was her granddaughter's 18th birthday. While there, Mildred was bitten by a spider. She didn't think anything of it since it looked like a harmless brown spider. She remembers being bit when she was weeding her son's small vegetable garden. Her hand swelled up, and she went to the nearest Urgent Care. The doctor at the Urgent Care told her to go to the Emergency Department because her hand was very red and hot. Mildred went to the Emergency Department and was admitted to the hospital for intravenous antibiotics. While in the hospital, she became extremely ill and was diagnosed with a chronic heart problem. She was prescribed expensive medicine and felt much better. Although she was on the mend and was allowed to travel home, she was worried about whether she would receive any bills for the hospitalization. 1. If Mildred were you mother, and based on her current situation, what healthcare delivery model would you prefer she have? (Choose the most correct response below by highlighting or underlining the answer.) A. Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) B. Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) C. Point of Service (POS) D. Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) E. Private Fee For Service (PFFS) F. Special Needs Plan (SNP) G.
