Choose a local, national, or international brand. However, you should not choose one of the following brands:

• Coca-Cola
• Microsoft
• Google
• Amazon
• Facebook

Much has been written on these companies who are leaders in their respective categories, so it makes sense to focus on other brands. Think about unknown or lesser-known brands, simply because it is a worthy exercise to evaluate brands that have not already become category or subcategory leaders/owners.

• Current Brand challenge or opportunity
• What is their competitive advantage?
• How are they different than their competitors?
• What types of innovation have they made? (technology, cultural, etc.)

A USEFUL OUTLINE FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT
Divide your paper into four parts:

1. Situation Analysis such as background, trends, and problems facing the brand
2. Key insights as to how the brand competes
3. Solutions the brand has employed to act on key insights
4. Results the brand achieved from these solutions and the recommended positioning statement
