Class, can managers be taught to lead? That is a question that comes up frequently. Or are they hard wired to lead? Your thoughts? One train of thought is, the ability to lead can be taught to a certain point. Your ability to lead is also limited by your personality and emotional state. You can be taught what to say, how to communicate, etc., but it is a lot harder to teach someone how to maintain their cool when stressed or when pressure to perform is applied.
