Consider the following scenario of 'Order Entry Subsystem' for K-mart electronic selling computer hardware. Once a customer decided to buy the computer hardware product, the customer can create new order by filling-up an order form at the order counter. Existing customer can start making new order while new customer must be registered first. New customer provides personal information such as name, address and telephone number. New customer also attached a copy of the driving license as supporting document. The order clerk will register the customer into the system and generate customer account. The clerk process the order items provided the products are available in the store. If the product is not available, the clerk will initiate a purchase order for the product. A customer can update the order by adding more computer hardware product to the existing order form and the order clerk will process the updated form if the product ordered is available. A customer can also check if the product is available or not before making the order. Only customers with valid account can create new order or update their existing order. At the end of the day, the account manager will produce daily sale report based on the sales for the day. The report contains summarized information about the total sales based on hardware type, hardware brand and total sales made by each salespersons.
