I have been part of many teams over the years, whether it be in school, in the gym, or at work. I have experienced issues regarding conflict over personality types. In order to work through this issue, the team has to accept that sometimes kindness and understanding can help defuse a situation and friction (Scuderi, 2014). Currently Im in a group project at work and there are eight of us working together. The dynamic of the group is very different from other groups Ive worked in. There are three members who have been working together for nine months, five of us who have been together for 3 months (new to the program) and pithing the five, one who is very eager to make a name for himself. There is a lot of resentment through the team and now people arent working together.

No matter if its work, school, children, young adults, etc. the members of the group need to remain professional and conduct themselves in a mature manner as they interact with others. When people have different personalities but all parties remain professional, less conflict will occur. If I personally feel tension between myself and a teammate, I would ask them directly to figure out if the conflict stems from our opposing viewpoints or if its something deeper than that. I would then pursue management if the conflict couldnt be resolved or if behaviors didnt change after addressing the conflict.
