Develop the theoretical framework for the following case: The success of organizations depends on the effective performance of managers. The job performance of the managers has been stated to be related to their work motivation in several studies. Others have tried to link motivation and satisfaction to performance, in that causal sequence. The results of several studies indicate that the important correlates of motivation are certain factors such as work ethics, age, and management level in the organization. Other studies added to that, the match between actual and expected job outcomes. However, previous studies have highlighted two important points: first, nearer the time of retirement, the fit between expected job outcomes and actual outcomes hardly makes a difference to managers in how motivated they feel. Second, the status given to managers by employees has a significant impact on the relationship between the satisfaction and performance of managers.
