Question: Dilution Lab (All data are given) Given the following information: A. Solution 1 [S1] : 25 mL of 1.65 % (w/v) copper (II) sulfate pentahydrate

Dilution Lab (All data are given)

Given the following information:

A. Solution 1 [S1]: 25 mL of 1.65 % (w/v) copper (II) sulfate pentahydrate (Formula weight of CuSO4*5H2O = 249.68g/mol)

Mass(Both experimental and theoretical is the same) = 0.4125 grams

B. Solution 2 [S2]: 10 mL of 0.053 M copper (II) sulfate pentahydrate

Mass(Both experimental + Theoretical) = 0.13233 grams

C. Simple Dilution:

(i) Solution 1 [S1], prepare 10mL of a 1/7 dilution.

(ii) Solution 2 [S2], prepare 25mL of a 0.004M dilution.

Starting from your solution 1 [S1], you have to prepare a 3 steps serial dilution [SD] with a total dilution factor of 1/72. The volume and dilution factors of the three dilutions are: Dilution 1 [SD1]: 5mL, 1/4 Dilution 2 [SD2]: 4mL, 1/6 Dilution 3 [SD3]: 3mL, calculate the dilution factor. Calculate the volume of stock needed in each step.
